Banana pudding

Banana pudding is a yummy and delicious pudding...Try this yummy recipe...


Ingredients:

Cream cheese:1 packet

Sweetened condensed milk:1 can

Instant vanilla pudding mix:1 packet

Cold milk:3 cups

Vanilla extract:1 tsp

Frozen whipped topping:1 container,thawed

Bananas:4,sliced

Vanilla wafers:1/2 packet

Preparation:

In a large bowl,beat cream cheese until fluffy..

Beat in condensed milk,pudding mix,cold milk and vanilla until smooth...

Fold in half of the whipped topping..

Line the bottom of a 9 x 13 inch dish with vanilla wafers...

Arrange sliced bananas evenly over the wafers..

Spread with pudding mixture...

Top with remaining whipped topping..

Chill and serve..

Enjoy the banana pudding!!

Whole eggplant fry - Whole brinjal fry

Whole eggplant fry-whole brinjal fry is an easy to make fry that tastes real good with hot rice and ghee!!
Ingredients:

Small sized eggplants:4

Coriander seeds:1/4 cup

Garlic cloves:2

Dry red chillies:4

Dry coconut:small piece

Few coriander leaves

Salt to taste

Oil:5 tbsp

Preparation:

Fry coriander seeds,red chillies in 1 tbsp of oil till golden brown..

Cut the dry coconut in to very small pieces...

Grind the fried coriander seeds,red chillies,garlic cloves and chopped dry coconut in to a fine powder and keep this aside..

Cut the eggplants in to 4 sections keeping the head intact(green part) and put them in water so that they wont turn black..

Mix salt and coriander leaves to the masala powder grinded before...

Stuff these cut eggplants with the masala...

Heat the remaining oil and fry these stuffed eggplants in it till they get cooked...

While cooking,keep turning the eggplants to avoid burning...

This whole eggplant fry will taste good with hot rice and ghee!!

Banana cream pie

Banana cream pie is a lip smacking banana delight..Can be made easily with this recipe...


Ingredients:

Baked 9 inch pie crust:1

Beaten egg yolks:6

White sugar:5 tbsp

Sifted corn starch:1/4 cup

Milk:2 cups

Vanilla bean,halved:1

Butter:2 tbsp

Melted white chocolate:3 ounces

Ripe bananas:8

Lemon:1,juiced

Whipping cream:1 pint

White chocolate liqueur:1 ounce

Banana liqueur:1 ounce

White chocolate:1 ounce

Preparation:

In a medium bowl,whick together egg yolks and sugar until pale yellow..

Whisk in corn starch..

In a medium saucepan,heat milk and vanilla bean to just slow the boiling point...

Slowly whisk a small amount of hot milk in to the egg yolk mixture and then stir egg yolk mixture back in to the pan...

Bring this to a boil over low heat stirring constantly..

Stir in the butter and then strain the mixture through a sieve...

Place a plastic wrap over the surface of mixture just to keep a skin from foaming..

Allow cooling slightly...

Stir in the melted white chocolate...

Chill pastry cream..

Slice bananas and toss with the lemon juice to keep from discolouring..Set this aside...

In a large bowl,whip chilled whipping cream until stiff peaks form...

Fold in to pastry cream...

Fold in the bananas and liqueurs...

Fill tart shell with banana cream filling...

Top generously with white chocolate curls and dust with cocoa...

Serve soon after assembling so that the crust doesnt get soggy!!

To make white chocolate curls:

Carefully draw a vegetable peeler across a broad flat surface of a room temperature chunk of white chocolate to make large thin curls..Noe refrigerate until ready to use!!

Baby chicken:500g

Chopped onion:25g

Wheat:100g

Green peas:10g

Heat a small pan.Add the oil and saute the onion.Add the carrot and green peas.

Add the wheat,salt and pepper with water to cook.

Take the chicken and marinate it,then grill it.

Place the wheat as the base and chicken on top along with the carrot and green peas....

Ingredients

Sugar:100g

Butter:30g

Cream:50ml

Preparation

Heat a pan and place sugar and cook till the contents are caramalised....

Then add butter and cream and mix well..

Preparation

Grease a suitable flat tray with butter and keep aside.

Mix the cocoa powder with milk and pour in to pan with the condensed milk,butter and sugar....

Heat on a medium flame......

Stir occasionally and keep cooking till the mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the pan....

Add the chopped walnuts and vanilla essence....

Pour in the greased tray....

Cool,cut in to squares and serve...

Ingredients

Chicken breast boneless:50 g

Celery stick:10g

Salt:1g

Chicken stock:200ml

Black pepper:2g

Take a small pot full of water and let it boil..

Add the chicken stock and boil well.

Cook the celery i another pot and add the chicken stock to this.

Stir till they all blend in together.

Cut the boiled chicken breast in to small cubes and put in to a bowl and pur the soup over it.

Serve hot.

Simple and easy to make.

Adequate intake of calcium,phosphorous,flouride and vitamins A,C and D are essential..Most of these are present in adequate amounts in the normal balanced diet..Only flourides tends to be deficient and needs to be supplemented..Teeth containing flouride can definitely more resistant to decay..

2.Carbohydrates:

There is a definite relationship between caries and the intake of refined carbohydrates like flour,sugar and other carbohydrates which have been treated in order to make them whiter,less fibrous and tastier..Refined carbohydrates become sticky quickly and cling to the teeth for long periods..They are easily broken down to acids by the bacteria in the mouth.These acids are primarily responsible for tooth decay..The best would therefore be to stick to natural unprocessed foods like fats,cereals,meat,fish,eggs,vegetables,fruits and cheese..The sugar substitutes like saccharin also do not cause caries..

3.Other foodstuffs:

Frequent consumption of acidic foodstuffs like like habitual drinking of carbonated drinks and excessive cunsumption of some fruit juices is associated with erosions of the teeth..It is also suggested that one should end meals with fibrous foods such as carrots and other salads as fibrous foods might have a mild cleansing reaction as they remove food debris from the teeth..

Basic first aid - Accidents at home

Accidents may occur at any time..Prevention is better than cure..But if any accident happens,you need to give vital first aid immediately..Try following the below steps and take them to the nearest hospital immediately...


General:

If you are in doubt about the treatment do not do anything..You may do more harm..

Respiration:

If it is falling,give artificial respiration-Mouth to mouth or mouth to nose..

Bleeding:

Arrest the bleeding and protect the wound..Apply direct or indirect pressure..Cover with a dressing,apply a pad and firm bandage..Keep at rest..

Fractures:

Immobilise it with a well padded stiff support reaching the joints on either side..Apply bandages on either side of the site and at the joints on either side support..

Burns and scalds:

A burn is caused by dry heat and a scald is caused by moist heat like steam,very hot water or oil...Immediately cool the area with cold water for 15 minutes till pain subsides..Do not break blisters or apply anything on the burns..Cover with a sterile or clean cloth,pad and give bandage..Give lots of fluids to drink..

Nose bleeding:

Sit him up facing the breeze and the head slightly forward..Ask him to breathe through the mouth and not to blow the nose..Apply a cold compress over the nose..The soft part of the nose may be pinched close with the fingers for about 10 minutes..Cold application on the back of the neck and forehead may help...

Animal bites:

Wash with soap and plenty of water,loose bandage may be applied..Get quick medical aid..

Snake bites:

Keep the patient calm..Wash with plenty of water and soap..Do not rub hard..First apply constrictive bandage on the heart side of the bite but this is not to be applied for more than 20 minutes..Do not incise or attempt to suck the wound..Get aid quickly...Try to identify the snake..

Fainting:

Lay him down and loosen the clothing around chest and waist..Turn head to one side..The legs may be raised a little..Do not attempt to give any solids or liquids..On recovery a small quantity of drink may be given and the person may be allowed to sit up after some rest..

Cuts and abrasions:

Cleanse area thoroughly with soap and warm water,carefully washing away any dirt...Apply direct pressure to wound until bleeding stops..Put sterile bandage on wound..Look out for signs of infection like swelling,redness,pain,fever and pus..Seek medical attention if the wound is very deep,if it is on a sensitive part of the body and if it shows any signs of infection..

Electric shock:

Remove the victim from the source of electricity with the help of a dry wooden stick,rubber gloves or dry cloth..Avoid direct contact..If he is not breathing,rescue breathing..Take him to the doctor as soon as possible..
